About CEIAS

Cheshire East's Information Advice and Support (CEIAS) team provide free, impartial information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) from birth to 25 years old who live in Cheshire East, we also support their parents and carers. We recognise and respect diversity and, in our day to day work we aim to reduce and remove existing inequalities and barriers.

We follow a national set of quality standards developed by the National Network of Information, Advice and Support Services. This helps us to monitor the effectiveness of the service we provide and ensure that it is at arms length from the local authority and health authority.

Read about the minimum standards for information advice and support service on the  Council For Disabled Children website.

The  CEIAS team is impartial. This means we will not tell you what to do, we will also not tell others what to do; we will not take sides. Our key aim is to ensure that your child has their needs met whether this be in regard to their education, health or social needs

We will empower you by giving you the information and support you need to make your own choices.

For more information on the CEIAS Team please read our one minute guide, The CEIAS Team for Parents and Carers (PDF, 299KB). You can also watch our short presentation The CEIAS Team (MS PowerPoint, 524 KB)

If your child has Special educational needs or a disability and there is something you need information, advice or support with then do make contact with us. We will not have all the answers but hopefully we can signpost you to someone who does!
